چکیده

Since the 19th century, portal frames have been used to build industrial buildings because development process is fast, economical, and efficient. This research aims look at cross-section of structural elements in BS 5950-1:2000 spans 15 m 40 using SNI 1726:2019 with modal analysis, including horizontal deflection stress ratio, LRFD ASD methods. Then, structure was revised be safe against earthquakes researched three zones, low (OMF), medium (IMF), high (SMF) earthquakes. The results this show that deflection's magnitude still falls within allowable limit, maximum value on Tarutung, SMF system, KDS E a 15-m span 43.828 mm 40-m 68.703 mm. However, several IMF systems' cross-sectional structures exceeded ratio capacity. After revision, percentage ratios weight cross-sections Indonesian market two methods frame systems are 16.050% 17.240%, respectively. obtained exceeds British standard before revision by 13.935% 13.187%. It an system.

PERFORMANCE-BASED DESIGN OPTIMIZATION OF STEEL MOMENT FRAMES

This study deals with performance-based design optimization (PBDO) of steel moment frames employing four different metaheuristics consisting of genetic algorithm (GA), ant colony optimization (ACO), harmony search (HS), and particle swarm optimization (PSO). In order to evaluate the seismic capacity of the structures, nonlinear pushover analysis is conducted (PBDO). This method is an iterative ...

Comparison of the Progressive Collapse Resistance of Seismically Designed Steel Shear Wall Frames And Special Steel Moment Frames

In this study, the progressive collapse potential of seismically designed steel plate shear wall (SPSW) systems is investigated using the alternate path method, and their performances are compared with those of the conventional special moment frame (SMF) systems. Nonlinear static and dynamic analyses are conducted to follow the progressive collapse of the structures, and their ability of absorb...

Evaluating Response Modification Factors of Concentrically Braced and Special Moment Steel Frames in Duplex Buildings

Response modification factor (R-factor) is one of the seismic design parameters to consider nonlinear performance of building structures during strong earthquake. Relying on this, many seismic design codes led to reduce earthquake loads imposed to the structure. The present paper tries to evaluate the R-factors of conventional concentric braced frames (CBFs) and special moment frames (MRFs) in ...

Robustness Assessment of Steel Moment Resisting Frames

Nowadays, many buildings with steel Moment Resisting Frames (MRF) are built in seismic zones when seismic codes are at its early stages of development, and as such, these structures are often designed solely to resist lateral wind loads without providing an overall ductile mechanism. On the other hand, current seismic design criteria based on hierarchy of resistance allow enhancing the structur...

assessment of the park- ang damage index for performance levels of rc moment resisting frames
